Why 'cursim'?

I realize that the name I’ve chosen for this digital garden is a little strange, and I thought I’d provide the tiniest bit of context.

Cursim means quick, swift, or fast in Latin, and it’s an in-game username that I decided upon when I was 16 or so, for use in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive.

That’s it! No deep meaning here haha, I simply wanted a moniker that implied speed and skill in the game while also sounding cool - and it stuck! I’ve been using it as an IGN or in code-naming projects ever since, and that’s exactly what happened here.

I don’t know for certain that I’ll keep the name of this digital garden the same forever, so let this note serve as a reminder for posterity - that as of October 24th 2024, this was known as none other than the cursim-wiki.
