I did only read the first chapter of this book by J. Krishnamurti, but it was probably the best Chapter 1 that I’ve read this year (I know, we’re only 2 weeks in lol)

It’s so refreshing to see a call to action that is to introspect and understand thyself first, for all change comes from within, with a catalyst that can only be one’s own will to change, and these changes can only bear sweet fruit when the intention and motivation behind it are pure and just. Far too often do books in a similar/adjacent genre ask you to simply replace your current ideology with one of it’s own prescription, but as Krishnamurti puts it — that leads us only to become secondhand men, which we do not want.

Highly recommend a read of the first chapter at least, and I will definitely be looking to borrow the whole book from the library as soon as I’m done with my current readings.
